Partner NewsAugust 2010 Build Up proving a successThe University of Westminster’s programme Build Up which is aimed at unemployed or under-employed built environment professionals, has a popular list of courses running this term. Linking London, was one of the partners in the ECIF bid, and has been supporting the project since it began in 2009. Registrations for the courses will be running to the end of September 2010.The programme offers a range of free courses over three strands which promote and develop inter-professional working and new ways of looking at urban issues. Newham’s research into education, training and employment for 16-19 year oldsThe London Borough of Newham has recently commissioned some pioneering research into education, training and employment for 16-19 year olds. The research was conducted among 380 young people and 380 employers in the borough and has provided us with some thought provoking results. Skills for Health call for providers of FDs for new Higher Apprenticeship FrameworksSkills for Health are seeking expressions of interest from education providers who currently offer (or are developing) a Foundation degree in three key priority areas, who may have an interest incorporating such provision into a new Higher Apprenticeship framework. Higher Apprenticeships are level 4 work based-learning or knowledge-based qualifications that include an NVQ 4 or in some cases a Foundation degree. The key priority areas are: Maternity Support, Acute care and Rehabilitation.
